UNITE HERE Local 5 Member Hardship & Flood Relief Fund
UNITE HERE Local 5 operates a member-funded emergency hardship fund that provides direct financial assistance grants to union members (hospitality, hotel, and healthcare workers) experiencing major financial crisis, property loss, or displacement from natural disasters.
Applications are reviewed confidentially by a member-led Hardship Committee. Approved applicants receive direct cash assistance grants funded through union and community donations to help cover urgent household recovery expenses.
Must be a current UNITE HERE Local 5 union member employed at a Local 5 property and must demonstrate specific financial hardship or uncompensated loss caused by a major disaster or crisis.
Fill out the Local 5 Hardship Application form detailing your requested amount and hardship reason. Email your completed form along with supporting documentation directly to Ross Baniaga at rbaniaga@5.unitehere.org.

You can submit your paper application and supporting documents in person at the Local 5 union office: 1516 S. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96826 (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
