California Jazz Foundation Financial Assistance
The California Jazz Foundation offers financial assistance to California jazz musicians in need. Assistance is charitable in nature and is paid directly to a creditor or third party. Applicants are encouraged to investigate all other possible sources of public aid before seeking assistance. The foundation also provides access to a referral network of medical professionals for qualified applicants.
- Show at least 5 years of primary employment as a jazz artist
- Current primary residence in California
- Evidence of actual need
- Copies of bills for which assistance is being requested
- A resume or discography
- Complete copies of your three most recent bank statements and investment account statements
- Current income verification of all household members, from all sources
Download the California Jazz Foundation Financial Assistance Application PDF, complete it, and include the required supporting documents (bills, resume/discography, bank statements, and income verification). After the application is received, a CJF social worker follows up; typical processing is 1–2 weeks unless there is an emergency.
