Requirements
  • Legal issue must be “related to a disastrous event,” including “natural disasters,” “human-made disasters like chemical spills or arson,” “public health emergencies like a pandemic,” or “isolated disasters such as a pipe bursting in a home.”
  • Program “covers disasters going back to 2022.”
  • Must meet financial eligibility: “depends on income, wealth, and household size.”
  • “For help, you must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of your immigration status if your case is accepted.”

Submit the Legal Services of North Dakota online intake form to request free disaster-related legal help. After the intake is submitted, the organization screens for financial eligibility and whether the legal problem is connected to a disaster before opening a case or providing referrals.
