Description
The MSFH Program is Two-Step Application Process: 1Apply for a Free Wind-Mitigation InspectionCreate a portal account and submit your request. 2Apply for a Wind-Mitigation Grant Only after receiving your inspection report can you apply for the upgrade grant. Funding is limited and grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Requirements
  • The home must have received an Initial Inspection through the Program.
  • The home must be a dwelling with an insured value of $700,000 or less. Low-Income Homeowners are exempt from this requirement.
  • The building permit application for initial construction of the home must have been made before January 1, 2008.
  • The Homeowner must provide the name and license number of the Contractor selected to perform the Mitigation Project.
  • The Homeowner must agree to make the home available for a Final Inspection once the Project is complete.
  • The Homeowner must agree to provide to the Program any and all information received from the Homeowner’s insurer identifying the discounts realized by the Homeowner because of the Improvements funded through the Program.

You’ll be redirected to the secure Participant Portal. Click Sign Up Now, enter a valid email address, and select Send Verification Code. Look for an email from Neighborly Software, enter the code, and create your secure password.

Complete prioritization questionnaire

Complete the short survey to help determine inspection scheduling; when submitted, your status updates to “Prioritization Questionnaire Submitted.

Wait for inspection group placement

Wait for assignment to an Inspection Group (1–5); you’ll receive an email confirming group placement.

Complete inspection application

Once assigned to an inspection group, complete the Inspection Application in your account (home details, contact info, preferred availability).

Schedule free wind-mitigation inspection

After your application is submitted and approved, an authorized Florida Wind-Mitigation Inspector will be assigned; you’ll be contacted to confirm date/time.

Review inspection report

After the inspection, review your report for recommended improvements and potential eligibility for grant funding.

Apply for a grant (if eligible)

If eligible after inspection, submit a Grant Application for funding for approved upgrades. For inquiries, call or email.
